It was a LONG day. Most of it was good but when it hit evening, everybody in the house was in a bad mood.
I cheered myself up though watching the repeat Supernatural Christmas show from last season (why do you suppose they couldn't grind one out for this year too?) and even my husband watched it, I think he got a kick out of the "bad" Santa and Sam getting his fingernail torn off...he's slightly jealous of my boys I think. It was so sad with Dean wanting a real Christmas and Sammy being the Grinch. You'd think it would be the other way around. I love the flashbacks. The only gripe I have is that with the young Dean, not much of his weird sense of humor shows, and with Sam, well he's such a baby and really shouldn't have been with the rough life they led. What was the stuff called the wreaths were made of...meadowsweet? It was meadow something and I was curious if it's real and what they said about it is true. (not that there REALLY are pagan gods but that that was what it was claimed to be used for).
I tried watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on our brand new DVD but gave up after the refrigerator part, hee. I was just too tired. I slept for an hour and now I'm back up cause I can't breathe it's too stuffy in the house.
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone! Though I must say it really doesn't seem much like Christmastime. It's dark and dreary outside but much too warm for this time of the year. All the presents are opened and looked through and the house looks like a good wind has blown through it. I hate to clean on Christmas day but I'm not sure I can look at the mess all day.
I found this at another journal:

Well, that's kind of scary. At first I thought I'd have to bold them all but there ended up being 20 I haven't watched. But I love movies plus I have children so I really do see a lot.:)
I'm stuck on my Luke Skywalker fanfic. I mean dead in the water...the well's dried up...there just ain't nothing there right now. I see other people spitting out drabbles and multi-chaptered pieces of art left and right. I can't even get chapter 2 fixed.
So I put on my Disturbia DVD to cheer myself up. There's just something about that Shia guy...I won't try to spell his last name and butcher it...but he's so very appealing. I even bought Transformers, which was a great movie by the way, nothing like what you probably remember from your childhood. Now Shia's in the new Indiana Jones that's out this summer. I don't know how to take that...my new found love paired up with my old love Harrison Ford and stuck in an...never-ever-thought-there'd-be-a-new-one...Indiana Jones movie. Somebody's doing something right.
I had the stupidest set of dreams last night. They made me feel unsettled all day. I was on a boat or maybe it was a ship, I'm not sure when one gets too big to be a boat and so is considered a ship. But it has a lot of dark polished woodwork and fancy carpeting and deep colors like red and gold on some of the walls. And no, it wasn't a floating gambling casino, there were no machines or anything like that. And names were being written on some of the wood floor or else a piece of wood lying on the floor, I'm not sure which, and I'm not sure if I was writing the names or just looking at them and tracing with my finger. A couple of the women I know from work and church were there and there were other people in the background. There didn't appear to be a threat but I had an awful unsettled and almost scared feeling and also this thought that it was not a good thing to get your name written on the wood. And I know it's silly but I've carried that unsettled feeling with me all day.
I need a dream interpreter...
I saw this guy today and now he's inconveniently stuck in my head. I was waiting outside a restaurant for a co-worker to park the car and this guy's waiting in a line of stalled-out traffic. Motorcycle, black leather clothes, black helmet, gloves, boots, the whole bit...and definitely not my type. Not too big, not too scrawny. I couldn't even see his face but there was just something about the way he sat on that motorcycle that was damn sexy. I hope he didn't notice me standing there with my stupid tongue hanging out of my head and staring at his thighs. And I know my friend thought I was an idiot all through lunch cause I kept asking her to repeat what she said. Isn't it funny how things happen like that though? Some hormone level goes nuts and you can't even pin down why. He was probably ugly as sin under that helmet.
It was an old friend's birthday today. I haven't seen her for many years, we lost contact. Isn't it strange to do that with someone you once saw every day, confided in, cared about? She had a horrible sense of humor and could be very vulgar with her comments and language. And she was forever on the lookout for a husband. The guys she could pick! Complete opposites of what she said she wanted. She drove this funny old red mustang and could fix it herself if it broke. I've thought of her a lot recently but contacting her could open a pandora's box of trouble.
And I really and truly dislike winter. Each pale cold day seems to drag me further down. Then when I get to work I nearly smother. Everyone's freezing and has the heat cranked up and I'm sweating and my head throbbing. So I go stand outside occasionally and wish for freedom.
Tell Me Again, Part 1AUTHOR: darth_acheronFANDOM:

Luke is determined to know his father, even if he is dead.( Tell Me Again, Part 1Collapse )
It's too hot to even think. We're still in the middle of a heat wave and no rain in sight. Even the plants I have on the shaded porch are dying. One of my friends wants to have her daughter's birthday party this weekend. Outside. I think she's nuts, the guests will be having heatstrokes. She's putting up those canopy things for us all to huddle under. Wonder how little clothing I can get away with?
Two different stupid, boring as hell meetings today...nothing good done. Caught myself actually NODDING OFF at one, now don't you think that looked good. Finally got home, and early too, and was locked out. Knew there weren't any windows unlocked so had to drive all the way to my sister's, the one I've been trying to avoid by the way, and get a spare key and be all nicey nice when I really just wanted to bite her head off.
Forgot to mail my stuff while I was in town. Have all the ingredients for what I was going to make for dinner...except for the chicken that is suppose to go in it. And I'm either coming down with something or my blood sugar or something is out of whack. I've felt this same way a couple of times already lately...that about to come down with something any second feeling plus kind of dizzy and spacy and have a funny metallic taste in my mouth. Of course, it could be an allergy to the green and yellow stuff...is it pollen?...that's coating everything. My agenda for the evening includes lots of sleeping and watching TV. *Sigh* After I go get the chicken...and mail my letters.
I'm dying. Well, no not really. But I feel BAD. So bad I fell asleep about 10 minutes into Revenge of the Sith which my kids put on to cheer me up. Woke up and didn't even know what day it was. My stomach has learned how to do cartwheels.
It must be gone tomorrow, whatever it is, because I cannot miss work. Cross your fingers.
I ran across a few good stories on FF.N today and thought I'd share.Valley of the Shadow of Death
by Kaliri Tanai.
Some of Vader's thoughts not long after ROTS. This one's short and only two chapters so far.Change of Fate
Luke wants to know his father before he became Darth Vader so, of course, time travel is involved. Several chapters. I love the author's description of Vader/Anakin's eyes in the first chapter. My Daughter
Vader finds out Leia is his daughter. This is long and I haven't finished all the chapters yet but it's definitely worth reading.
